Google Releases Major Hummingbird Update And Nobody Notices


Love them or hate them, there's no denying Google does make
things interesting for website owners and especially for web
marketers. The introduction of the Hummingbird Update was done
last month very quietly and without any fuss. Few people noticed
although many webmasters did see a jump in traffic, while others
loss visitors from the most powerful search engine on the web.

With this latest Algorithm Update Google is trying to supply
answers/results for more longer complex search questions which
can't be covered by a few keyword search terms. Actually, Google
is going much more stealth with their reporting, anyone using
Google Analytics will have noticed the "not provided" phrase
for the keywords used on many searches. Webmasters are now
left guessing which keywords or phrases are drawing visitors
to their sites.

It's also Google's 15th birthday and like all teenagers, this
one is turning into a real brat. Rolling its eyes at complaining
webmasters everywhere and taunting them with release of Panda,
Penguin and countless other changes which have frustrated
webmasters/marketers to no end in the last few years.
Punishing a whole site because it has a few bad pages or
a few bad links is still remembered by those affected
webmasters and will be for some time to come.

Many have become disillusioned by Google and are looking for
alternatives for both their traffic and advertising.

Can you say Bing! Can you say Facebook!

Oh well, teenagers are teenagers and the only good thing which
can be said about teenagers - they grow up eventually.

Google, especially with its poor treatment of small webmasters
and sites, has a lot of maturing to be done but they will hopefully
get there some day.
