My Internet Marketing Strategies For 2010

As a full-time online affiliate marketer I have a feeling 2010 is going to be one of those "Watershed Moments" in marketing on the web. There are several key factors currently in place or which will come into play early in the next year that could possibly change the whole ballgame.

First, we have the new FTC (Federal Trade Commission) Guidelines regarding Testimonials and Endorsements which came into effect on Dec. 1st of this
month. These new rules could have many long lasting ramifications for Internet marketers, regardless of what you're promoting on the web. Changes
that every online marketer should be aware of and be paying some attention to.

Second, we have the countless new changes within Google that's stirring up the pot, like never before. Real Time Search and Google Caffeine are just
two new things online marketers must also be paying attention to in their marketing. Google Caffeine, which is a major overhaul of Google's search engine could cause major fall-out for online marketers.

Anyway, if you want to find out more about these new changes and my own strategies for coping with them, just click this link:

Gearing Up For Black Friday & Cyber Monday - Some Marketing Strategies

The weekend and days after the Thanksgiving Holiday are
some of the best marketing days of the whole year. They
are also the best shopping days which every online marketer
should take full advantage of, if they want to bring up
their sales for the year.

For four or five years now, Black Friday and Cyber Monday
have always been my best marketing days on the web. Like most
affiliate marketers, I make special plans and run special
marketing campaigns during this time. Usually, conversion
rates increase significantly leading up to Christmas, so
spending more revenue on advertising just makes good
business sense.

There are certain things and tactics I use that may be of some
interest to others marketing on the web. Just a few marketing
tips on the things I do to increase my overall sales. I have
found you can't just want for things to happen, you have to
make things happen.

In other words, you have to be proactive and take steps to
make sure your sites and promoted affiliate products are
front and center during this holiday season. Make sure you
don't miss out on all the increased shopping and spending
which takes place on those days.

tactics are for Black Friday & Cyber Monday? Click this

How to Find Profitable Niche Markets/Sites

BWMagic's Internet Marketing News!

o How to Find Profitable Niche Markets/Sites
.......

Perhaps one of the hardest tasks in actually earning a living
from the web is finding good niche markets/products that will
return a profit. It's not that hard to do, but you do have to
do a lot of research unless you want to waste all your time
and money promoting a product or site that's just not viable.

Been there, done that.

Around 10 years ago, when I first started exploring how to make
an income from the web - I wasted two or three years promoting
one "get-rich-quick" scheme after another. You have probably seen
these opportunities which promises immediate riches by sponsoring
and selling a miracle product. You get your own branded template
site and you spend your time recruiting new prospects into selling
the same miracle product you're selling, these recruits are placed
under you in some kind of silly matrix... please stay away
from such foolishness.

And be extremely careful of what products you promote or market on
the web. Unless you already have your OWN products; choosing the
right products and services to promote and market will make all
the difference to your bottom line. So you have to choose wisely.

But how do you find profitable niches?

First, keep you eyes and ears open, what are the popular products
your friends and colleagues are all buying? What are the hot
products? What products are people buying online right now?

Take for example - Netbooks!

They have only been around for a couple of years, introduced by
Asustek in the fall of 2007 and now all the major laptop makers
Dell, HP, MSI, Lenovo... are all making netbooks.

Why?

Because netbooks are hot products and it can be a very lucrative
market even for affiliate marketers like myself. Now I have gone
and broken one of the unwritten rules of online marketing. Never
tell anyone what products you're promoting and which ones are
bringing in the revenue because it just creates competition and
thousands of people will start selling the same products.

However, I love competition. Some of the keywords I target have
over a 100 million pages competing for the same keywords. Getting
on that first page of results in Google keeps you on your game.
It keeps you on your SEO toes!

Besides it doesn't take a genius to realize the best netbooks are selling like hotcakes right now.

But the real trick is to find niche markets/keywords that have
little competition and then it is much easier to get your site and
keywords ranked high in all the search engines. Do some serious
keyword research in a niche market before you start building a
site around it.

Many obscure products and niche markets are still virtually
untouched. You have to find these and develop an authority site
on them. But how do you find these profitable niches?

Again, keep your eyes open, what do you buy online? What would
you find comfortable selling online? It's best to pick something
you already have an interest in - take your favorite hobby and
find products to sell or promote. Whether it be handy gardening
tools, wine making kits, cooking utensils and the list goes on.

There are many places to find niche products - try newspapers,
magazines, even your TV... what's being sold in the advertisements?
In other words, what products are companies spending their
advertising money on?

This is also one of the most important keys I use for finding
profitable niche products online. What are individuals spending
their advertising dollars on - month after month? If people are
consistently spending money on advertising (even Pay Per Click)
more than likely this is a profitable niche.

Then I check out their sites - if it's mostly affiliate products
they're promoting and selling - then I know this is probably a
viable niche market.

Next I thoroughly research the keyword competition related to
this market. I personally use Keyword Elite but there are
many keyword research programs and software on the market.
If the competition is not too stiff, then this would be the
major factor whether or not I enter this niche.

Another consideration, I thoroughly check out the top sites
which are ranked in Google for this niche. How well are they
designed? Are they unique? How old are they? How many backlinks
do they have? Can I do better? Can I compete?

Next, you have to be careful when checking out the affiliate
commissions you can earn from promoting any niche market?
Are these products featured in Amazon? Are they offered thru
Commission Junction or the other major affiliate networks?

Is there a possibility of getting an exclusive private affiliate
deal with the maker of the products or services? Don't laugh,
this is one of the keys to earning the huge incomes on the web.
Many companies, especially small start-ups will give you lucrative
deals if you promote their products, some will even give you
residual income for the life of the client you have referred.

Don't leave this area unexplored because it can be the key to
finding really lucrative profitable niche markets on the web. Many
times once you or your site has a dominant presence in a niche
market (your site is ranked high for all the important keywords)
companies will approach you to sell their products. Keep these
private deals on the table and you might be surprised at the
response you get.

Besides the affiliate route, a more profitable way to proceed
is to sell the products yourself thru a "drop ship" company or
service. Or you can buy the resell rights to a product and sell
it yourself on your site. I personally stay away from "actually"
selling stuff on the web because that usually brings in a whole
lot of other issues such as customer support, refunds, etc.
I like affiliate marketing because all the buying and selling
are done for me. All I have to do is supply the traffic and
potential customers to my affiliate links and let them do the rest.

Regardless, you have to pick a niche market that will return
enough of a profit to make it worth your while. I made this mistake
once by creating a site on How To Clean LCD Screens - the
site was somewhat successful, I did and do sell a couple of these
LCD cleaning kits a day but unfortunately I only get less than a
dollar for each one I sell thru my Amazon affiliate links.

http://www.cleanlcds.com/

The product price is simply not high enough to give me a good
return. I believe my major reason for designing the site
was to also sell a big ticket item like Big Screen LCD TVs
but I didn't sell many of these mainly because I believe
few people buy such a big item without actually seeing
the picture quality of the TV in person before buying it.

You really do have to find products people like buying online.

One simple way to do this is to only promote products that
are ONLY sold online, therefore people simply have to buy them
on the web. Another solution is to promote products which have
exclusive online coupons and deals for their affiliates. You would
be surprised how many major companies like Dell, HP, Lenovo...
offer these special online deals. Customers will seek out these
deals and buy online - hopefully from your affiliate links.

Finding popular products can be done, here are a couple of free
sites I like to use to help me find those niche products.

Google Trends

Google Trends

This site will show you which products are popular and getting
a lot of search traffic compared to others. It will also show
you how much news/buzz a certain product is receiving... all
important points to consider when choosing a product to promote.

Perhaps one of the best sites for finding profitable niche
products is from Microsoft:

Detecting Online Commercial Intention

http://adlab.microsoft.com/Online-Commercial-Intention/

Which tells you the Probability someone will buy when using
certain keywords or even a site. This is a good way to check
to see if your keywords have commercial value - will people
buy it? Use this tool consistently, and it will help you
find your profitable keywords and niche markets.

Now if you're are a complete novice at online marketing, then
you will need extra help at finding your own profitable niche
markets. One solution I always recommend is SBI. It is more
expensive than other hosting services but you get a tons of
marketing tools and programs along with your site building
system.

One of these is the whole "BrainstormIt" system which will
guide you step-by-step to finding a profitable niche market to
build your site around. I have not found any system more
comprehensive than this one - again, it's more expensive
but well worth the money.

Site Build It with BrainstormIt

Anyway hope this discussion has given you some help in finding
your own profitable niche products to promote on the web.
Find the right ones, and you will never look back!

Thousands if not millions of online webmasters
and marketers are turning to affiliate marketing in order
to earn extra money from the web. Affiliate marketing
offers a great opportunity to cash in on the billions
of sales made online each year.

But is Affiliate Marketing right for you?

Is it something that you should investigate and pursue
further if you truly want to monetize your site or content?
As a way of an answer and to get you thinking about affiliate
marketing I would to offer my own experiences as a full-
time affiliate marketer. I would also like to give you
some marketing tips and a few pit-falls that you should
avoid.

Truth be told, I didn't plan to become an affiliate marketer.
It just happened. Almost by accident as I was struggling to
promote my first site on Internet marketing some 10 years ago
now. My original plan was to re-sell some software programs
I had bought the re-sell rights to in hopes of making my
fortune on this new thing called the Internet.

Well, to make a long story short, most things don't quite turn out
as we had originally planned. Instead of selling my own products,
I became much more interested in studying "how to market"
on the web and examining whole marketing systems and how they
worked. I was much more interested in the "nuts & bolts" or
the marketing tools behind these online marketing systems
then actually selling stuff.

I was particularly captivated by a new search engine called
Google. Yes, they are many marketers around who have been
studying Google since it first started. And I believe
it was Google and its Adsense Program in particular that
sort of legitimized the "whole idea of making money online"
for me. And the rest as they say is history...

But enough about me, what about you?

Do you have your website? Are you interested in earning
extra revenue from your site? Are you trying to earn a
full-time income online?

o Affiliate Classroom

Affiliate Classroom is one of best places to learn
about affiliate marketing. It's run by Anik Singal
and offers excellent resources on how to market online.

Especially if all this online affiliate marketing
is new to you and you want the basics. But affiliate
classroom doesn't stop there... this is a vibrant
community with on-going marketing strategies that
will help you - no matter which level of marketing
you're at.
Many of the resources are free but you can sign-up
for the paid subscription to Affiliate Classroom
where you will get the most benefits and perks.

After all, John created online marketing history

Feature Article

I debated really hard with myself before I wrote
this article. Mainly because it is not what most
people starting up an online site or business
want to hear. I know this article won't be popular
or win me any new friends!

In this article I spell out an all too obvious truth -
there are no quick fixes. There are no magic formulas
for quickly earning money online. Sure there are things
that work, programs you can follow... marketers and
marketing techniques you can duplicate.

But there is one important element that most marketers
trying to sell you their product avoid or worst simply
lie to you about.

What they don't want to tell you is that (in most cases)
building an online income takes time. A whole lot of
time and planning. It is simply not done overnight.

Sorry but there are no quick fixes. There are no magical
formulas or fast forwards!

If you want to build a solid steady online income
you have to put in the time... I will let the article
give you all the gritty details.

The promise of instant wealth and riches has always
been a successful marketing ploy by marketers.
Unfortunately, more times than not, they are the only
ones raking in the big bucks. Don't be fooled by any
quick fixes, building a passive online income takes
time and a whole lot of planning to get the job done
properly.

Still, many people are tempted by the offer of a
quick fix and the promise of overnight success.
Don't be.

Building a solid lasting online business requires some
planning and time. Don't be under the illusion that
building a steady online income can be done overnight
or with just a few clicks of the mouse. It usually
doesn't happen that way even in the virtual world.

This is probably not what you want to hear for in our
hastily created "Instant Society" we want everything
five minutes ago. We want immediate gratification.
We want it done already.

We want the quick fix.

To make matters worst, we are constantly bombarded with
stories of how ordinary people have struck it rich and
made money very quickly online. The swift speed of the
Internet has fueled these 'get rich quick' scenarios up
to a fever pitch. A virtual fiery inferno!

But don't be taken in by all this marketing hype and stories
of people who have made money quickly and easily. Slow down.
Take a deep breath and use your brain cells in at least
multiples of 10!

Sure there are online marketers who can generate thousands,
even millions within a few days but in almost all these
cases these marketers have built a solid foundation first.
They have built their sites, created products, cemented
business deals, formed JV (Joint Venture) partners, built
their contact lists and they have done their SEO work...

In other words, they have done the ground-work first
and have created the means to generate income quickly
and steadily.

Regardless of what these successful online marketers
will tell you or want you to believe - it didn't just
happen overnight. Of course, there are a few exceptions
to that statement (people do win lotteries) but what
most of these marketers have in common are long tern
marketing strategies which played a significant role
in their success.

Long tern marketing strategies which helped them build
a steady passive online income. The same strategies you
can use to generate your own passive online cashflow.

Here are some suggestions from someone who is drawing a
healthy passive online income, actual strategies you
can copy.

1. Think Long Term

Save your immediate fixes for the spaying of dogs and
Las Vegas weddings. Have a long term goal in mind when
you set out to create your online affiliate income. Don't
expect it to happen in a couple of days, instead plan on
months and even years of building your online business from
the ground up.

Have the mind-set that you're creating long term relationships
and objectives. Have a long term business plan in place or
at least realize you will have to put time aside to build
your business. If you need income to live on, don't quit
your day job. Work on building your online income in your
spare time and after working hours.

Along the way, take time to obtain a solid knowledge base.
Learn everything you can on Internet marketing. Learn how
it's done. Knowledge and 'know-how' will be your main
ingredients for success.

2. Your Unique Selling Position

The Internet is mainly based on the transfer of information.
Make sure you have some to offer. Base your online business
on something you have expertise in or something that you
would enjoy becoming an expert on - play to your own interests
and hobbies. If you love what you do it will not be work.

Create your own corner of the web on something that truly
interests you. Something as simple as creating "How To Guides"
and "Comparison Shopping Sites" do extremely well online.
Information on the web is scattered all over the place,
simply compiling this information in an easy to read and
access manner will produce surprising results. One of your
main goals should be to get your site seen by all the search
engines as an "Authority Site" on your particular subject matter.

3. Target and Dominate Your Niche Keywords

Do your keyword research homework first. The web is powered
by keywords - the exact phrases people type into search
engines to find what they're looking for on the web.
Find the highly searched for keywords in your niche or
subject area and target them in your online marketing.
Please remember, achieving top keyword rankings may take
months ( more likely years) of consistent SEO work.

Use sites like WordTracker or GoodKeywords to find your
useful keywords. Create web pages and content related to
your keywords. Build quality one-way links to these keywords
by writing helpful and informative articles on your niche.
Submit these articles to online directories like Ezinearticles,
Goarticles...

Invest in a professional keyword research software such
as Keyword Elite if you do extensive keyword marketing
and PPC advertising. The idea is to dominate the main
keywords in your niche market; if you can get high rankings
for these profitable keywords, be assured companies in
your industry will quickly come knocking at your door
with lucrative offers.

4. Build Relationships

Along the same lines, go out of your way to build long
term relationships with the companies and affiliate managers
you're promoting with your site. If you supply the sales
and traffic, you will be rewarded with special incentives
and bonuses. Don't be afraid to bargain for private
affiliate arrangements and compensation, companies will
go out of their way to reward and keep their top performing
affiliates happy. Money talks, that other stuff walks!

Join the major Affiliate Marketing networks such as
Commission Junction, LinkShare, ClickBank, Shareasale...
these companies are professionally run and offer affiliate
programs for all the Top 500 companies. Remember, the Internet
is still seen as a very untrustful place by many customers,
promoting well known established Brand Name companies and
products will prove more lucrative for any affiliate marketer.

5. Build Your Own Lists

One of the most effective and proven marketing strategies
is to build your own 'opt-in' or contact lists. Creating and
nurturing a loyal and responsive list should be one of your
main goals as an affiliate marketer.

Building a series of 'follow-up emails' for each of your
major affiliate products can produce more sales. Capture
the contact information of your site's visitors for further
marketing and contact. Your follow-up emails should be both
helpful and offer special discounts or offers to your subscribers;
everyone loves a deal.

6. Create Multiple Income Streams

Don't put all your eggs... but you know that already and the
same applies to affiliate marketing. Don't concentrate on one
product or company. Create affiliate relationships with hundreds,
even thousands of companies and you will see a steady flow of
affiliate checks. If one industry or market area slows down,
you can rely on others to fill in the gap.

Don't forget an easy way to monetize your site or sites
to produce passive income is to place ads with your content.
Google Adsense is just one example of this, there are many more.
Just place a few lines of code and these companies will supply
targeted ads for your content. Simple and easy way to earn
passive income.

Over time, as you build up your online business and affiliate
relationships, one of the most rewarding things is getting all
those affiliate checks arriving each month.

7. Aim For Residual Income

Make it your goal to market/promote products and companies
that pay residual income. You have to put in the same time
and effort to make the sale but with a residual sale it keeps
paying for months and years into the future. Make one sale and
receive residual income for the life of that client.

The most successful tactic here is to choose affiliate
programs that offer monthly services such as membership sites,
hosting services, business services, cable services... once
customers sign up for these ongoing services they usually keep
them for years. Building residual income is not a difficult feat
and can be one of the main sources of a steady passive income
for years to come. Imagine getting paid for a sale you made five
years ago.

To sum up, creating an online passive income is not a
difficult task but it usually takes some time and planning.
Instead of going for the quick fix, build up your sites and
affiliate relationships over the long term. You will achieve
a higher degree of success and in the process you will build
a much more secure and reliable source of passive income.

Take the slow road, you will get there much quicker!

Your follow-up emails should be both
helpful and offer special discounts or offers to your subscribers;
everyone loves a deal.

Take the slow road, you will get there much quicker!

o The Joys Of Affiliate Marketing...

I didn't exactly set out to become an affiliate marketer.
It just happened somewhere along the way.

When starting my first site affiliate marketing
was only one option to make the website pay
for itself. I was mainly aiming for advertising
revenue from sponsored links and sales, Google
Adsense and the like.

Affiliate marketing was only a way to occasionally
promote a product or marketer which I found to
be offering a great product or marketing system.
Just a small part of the whole picture. An appetizer
and not the main course.

It didn't turn out that way. Things rarely go as
we plan them or as we would like them to proceed.

Another lesson I learned. Money changes everything.

The affiliate programs that I did join and promote
with my first site quickly became the main source
of my online income. I simply followed the money.

I quickly learned affiliate marketing is extremely
lucrative. It quickly presented an opportunity
to work full-time online, which was my main goal
from the start.

The main reason affiliate marketing became so lucrative
was because of the high commissions one can earn.
Many programs pay over 50%, some even as high as 70%
or 80% to their affiliates. Especially in the Internet
Marketing field which the general theme of my first
site.

But there was one Big Problem!

Little did I know the competition would be so fierce
in that niche, all those special bonuses from
the 'brand-name' gurus made promoting any new
marketing product simply hellish!

I could not compete!

How can an unknown marketer compete with all
those big name marketers and their special bonuses
offered if you buy from their links. I quickly
learned this is a favorite marketing technique of
the so-called big dogs. One of the ways

Offer bonus gifts/products if you buy from them
and their affiliate links.

Facing all this competition I ventured outside
of the marketing info niche with my site and
affiliate programs. This is where the floodgates
really opened for me and my online marketing.

Promoting affiliate programs with little or low
competition was the main reason my site became
so profitable. I could compete because I had
all the marketing information (from years of
running two sites on Internet Marketing) but
I didn't have all those big-name marketers
competing against me.

I used my own SEO tactics to promote my
affiliate programs and suddenly found because
the competition was very minimal - I could
easily get on the first page in the Search
Engines for my affiliate keywords and phrases,
displaying all my affiliate links of course.

In promoting general common day items,
the affiliate commissions are lower usually
around 1% to 10% but you can sell more of these
products very quickly. Early on, I choose big
ticket items that if you only earned 1% or 2%
- you still make money. 2% of $5,000 is $100!

Plus, as an affiliate marketer if you regularly
make sales in the 100 to 200k per month for a
company or business you get rewarded with a lot
of bonuses and incentives. These quickly
add up to a very healthy online monthly income.

Affiliate marketing has been very good to me, and
I am just getting started really. The main joy
of affiliate marketing is the freedom it gives
you. I can work anywhere in the world, anywhere
you have Internet access...

I am currently on vacation visiting family and
friends and I have already earned in a couple
of days what the ordinary worker probably makes
in a month.

In this whole affiliate marketing scenario, there
is one extremely important element that I totally
missed, actually I always knew it was an option
but I never followed that road.

Those who have a few more gray cells than me
already know this option. It's staring you right
in the face!

What is it?

Simply, those who make the most money are the
ones WITH the affiliate programs. Those who
own and run their own affiliate programs. These
are the true affiliate marketers.

Owning and running your own affiliate program
gives you 1000's of affiliates promoting and
selling your products for you. Basically you
have to be on the other side of the equation
to make the big bucks.

Now starting you own affiliate program does
have some risks and it does take exact planning
to set up but it can be done.

If you want to explore this profitable side of
affiliate marketing, Marlon Sanders has an easy
to use Point/n/Click system entitled "The
Affiliate DashBoard".

Marlon Sanders is one the prime marketers I
promote with my Internet Marketing sites - he
is one of the pioneers of this business and has
an excellent affiliate program.

I have made countless sales thru Higher Response
Marketing and the commissions are some of the
most generous you will ever find. I have placed
his products on the home/main page of my
sites not only because they sell extremely well
but they are truly helpful for anyone marketing
on the web.

One of the main reasons (in my opinion) Marlon's
products sell extremely well is not only because
of the marketing info and knowledge you get - but
because of the WAY the information is presented.

With Affiliate DashBoard and Marketing DashBoard
Marlon has presented all the information in a
simple Point and Click format - you can easily see
and access the information in a very user-friendly
way. Simple and easy.

Anyway, if you have ever considered starting your
OWN affiliate program, I would strongly suggest
you have a glance at Marlon's Affiliate DashBoard
first:

Matching your affiliate sales programs with popular trends
can boost your profits. This ready-made marketing strategy
is one every affiliate marketer should be using...

o Boost Your Affiliate Sales Programs With Popular Trends
Copyright © 2006 Titus Hoskins

It doesn't take an Einstein to realize that matching
affiliate sales programs with popular trends can be very
profitable. If you're an affiliate marketer you should be
keeping a close eye on what people are using and buying;
then matching and marketing those trends with appropriate
affiliate programs.

It can be a simple process of observation and application.
Any marketer, online or offline, can and should take advantage
of this ready-made marketing strategy.

Spotting popular trends is relatively simple, just look
around at what your friends are using and buying. Take note
of the activities and products that's consuming their time.
Take note of your own activities and any new gadgets that
you have started using recently. You're probably find a few
trends worth your time and consideration.

Checking the amount of demand for certain items during
a holiday season is another way of finding what trends
and products are hot. What products are on Santa's list?
What are children and adults wishing for this holiday season?
How many ipods, digital cameras, x-boxes, blackberries,
nanos, flat screen tvs, video phones, laptops... were on
that list?

Match up your affiliate sales programs to this list and you
will have easier and more profitable marketing campaigns.
Promote the trendy products everyone wants and your sales
will go way up. Keyword market to these popular trends and
your online stats will also take a big jump.

If you're an online marketer you will know keeping track
of the popular keywords (what words and phrases people type
into the search engines) will give you a very good indication
of what's hot and what's not. It will also point out popular
trends for you!

You can use a site like Wordtracker.com to tell you what
people are searching for on the web and in the marketplace.
You can also use a popular site like www.nichebot.com to
find out how much competition there is for each keyword or
keyword phrase.

Watching for popular trends can be very profitable. New
services should also be examined, for instance, efax or
receiving your faxes from your email. Podcasting, receiving
music from RSS feeds. Videocasting, receiving videos on your
ipod or video phones are all just catching fire...

Keep an extra eye focused on RSS, with the advent of
Microsoft's new RSS powered 'Longhorn' browser and
operating system, the utilization of RSS should be one
trend prudent marketers should be watching.

What about voip phones, using the Internet as your
phone system? Online dating is another trend that's
expanding each year. Laptops are becoming very popular,
they are now outselling their main rival the desktop PC
for the first time in history. Wireless systems such
as cellular phones, satellite radios, GPS... are other
trends worth watching. They're growing rapidly and are
quickly replacing outdated technologies.

Keeping a close watch on all types of media advertising
is another way of spotting popular trends. Savvy advertisers
are sometimes in the vant garde, pointing the way to popular
trends and new products.

Once you have spotted the major trends and products, you
can use mega affiliate sales programs like ClickBank, LinkShare,
Amazon and Commission Junction to find products and services to
market. Finding the perfect match of an affiliate product to a
popular trend may prove very lucrative for the watchful affiliate
marketer.

It's one case where being trendy can help you earn a healthy
income from affiliate marketing. Timely products for timely
profits - Carpe Diem!

o Affiliate Marketing Connections

Joint Ventures (JVs) are essential elements of
affiliate marketing. Doing JVs with brand-name
marketers is one of the surest ways to earn
affiliate income online.

And one of Affiliate Marketing biggest JOYS!

As you can imagine, these big name marketers are
bombarded with JV offers every day. They become
very selective in what products or programs they
promote. Reputation is everything on the web.

Promote too many low quality products and you're
history in the eyes of your all important subscribers
and patrons.

So most big-name marketers are very careful when
choosing their programs. Some marketers like
Joel Comm even charge a fee for just considering
your JV project or product.

For serious marketers this may be a very good way
to proceed. You cut out those people who are
not really serious about their products.

Putting your money where your mouth is... should
rule the day.

Plus getting a high-profile marketer to promote
your affiliate product usually means many smiling
trips to the bank!

It can really make or break a project. Getting
that all-important JV is worth the up front money...

Anyway, if you want to see an example of how this
works, Joel Comm has a page and offer here:

o Still in Vacation Mode

o Affiliate Marketing Guide To A Monthly Online Income

.......

o Still In Vacation Mode

Summertime is always the slowest time of
year for my sites - mainly because they deal
with online businesses or services. Everyone
is either on vacation or going on vacation.

Everything slows down in the summer.

Online marketing or anything dealing with
Internet Marketing usually drops a little in
the summer months, then picks up again around
Labor Day.

I am usually in vacation mode myself in the
summertime (casualty of being a former teacher)
- it's a time for relatives, cabin parties and
backyard BBQs... I don't work as hard in the
summer.

Ironically, the summer months are some of my
best months for online earnings and it has
mainly to do with 'back to school' sales.

I target this market with one section of my site
and it has proved extremely profitable. Since I
knew the Online marketing sector slows down,
I needed a niche market that's very active in
the summer months.

Back to School supplies (mainly laptops in my case)
are very good affiliate products to promote during
this time. All the major laptop makers have
'back to school' sales and promotions - you just
have to place these on your sites and the sales
pour in...

I mention all this because if you're an affiliate
marketer you must keep your targeted customers
in mind and take full advantage when buyers are
ready to buy.

The 'Back To School' market is a perfect example
when buyers are ready to buy... supply them with
a good bargain or deal thru your affiliate links
and you will make sales...

Even while you're on vacation!

o Setting Online Goals

We all have goals. We all set goals.

Some are short term, most are long term.
No matter what your goals are, achieving
them usually takes some effort on your part.

Just because it's the Internet or computers,
doesn't mean you don't have to do the work
or put in some serious learning time.

Most people don't put in the time. I know
this from first-hand experience, I have several
online guides showing people how to build
an opt-in list, how to set-up an online
automatic business... only around 5% ever
complete all the lessons.

Most people don't stick to one system and
complete it or put it into practice. This I
believe is the main reason, 95% of people trying
to earn an online fails. It is not because they
can't do it - it's because they give up on
a system or program before they and it has
a chance to work.

It took me three years before I started seeing
any decent results from my online marketing.
Most of that time was spent learning how
the online stuff works... I had to start
with learning HTML and go from there.

If I had stopped in those first years things
would have turned out very differently.

When I started my sites and affiliate marketing
years ago - my main goal was to make a full-time
living online. Make my living thru affiliate
commissions selling other people's stuff.

I have accomplished that goal.

It's the kind of lifestyle I wanted - I didn't
want the hassle of dealing directly with
customers, taking orders, shipping, customer
support... with affiliate marketing all those
things are taken care of for you... all you have
to do is find the leads or customers and send
them to the companies you're affiliated with
and let them do all the hard work!

If you practice something long enough, you
will get better at it! It's as simple as
that but you must stick to your game plan.

As I became a better affiliate marketer my own
goals started rising... one time I was very pleased
to make 100 bucks a day, now I am kinda disappointed
if I don't make 300 a day.

In Internet Marketing or affiliate marketing
terms this is small change... the major players
properly make that in an hour!

But it's the lifestyle I am after... not the
big bucks... I could easily make a lot more but
it would mean hiring employees and starting a
physical business. Right now all my dealings are
make in the virtual world and it's a one man
operation... if I wanted to really expand, I would
have to form an off-line business and this is not
the route I want to take.

I would also have to create my own marketing products
and sell them - that's another route I could take
to earn the really big bucks!

But we all have our own goals and objectives. We are
all searching for the lifestyle that suits us...
and affiliate marketing suits me to a tee!

I am extremely comfortable with affiliate marketing.
It has been the solution to finding an online
income which I can earn anywhere, anytime. If you're
interested in doing the same, I suggest you
read the following article.

I made a list of all the things you need to do
to succeed at affiliate marketing. I am sure there
are plenty more but these are my own starting
points. These have served me well, they can
do the same for anyone.

Feature Article

o Affiliate Marketing Guide To A Monthly Online Income
Copyright © 2007 Titus Hoskins

Creating an online affiliate marketing system which produces
a monthly income is relatively easy. With one catch, you
have to know exactly what you're doing and how the whole
online marketing system works. Figuring out all the details
can take you years to learn.

What the beginning webmaster or marketer doesn't realize
building a solid online business takes time and patience.
It is not done overnight, despite what the latest marketing
gurus are trying to sell you, it simply takes time and
a lot of hard work to build a solid online business.

First, you must have a basic understanding of how the
Internet works and the future role you will play in it.
You must understand the net is basically an extension
of the real world: it is an enormous virtual playground
as well as a vast storehouse of the world's collective
knowledge. But you must also understand the web is a
global marketplace unlike anything that has been seen
before on this planet.

If you want to be an affiliate marketer you must place
yourself or your site into this whole online environment.
As an affiliate marketer you must play some sort of role
in the transfer of information within this complex structure.

How?

Simply give surfers what they're looking for: information.

Supplying valuable, needed information is your key to
online affiliate success.

Here are some proven affiliate marketing strategies or tips
to get you started on your affiliate marketing career. Each
is a brief summation of some of the factors to keep in mind
as you create your own complex, yet simple, online marketing
system.

1. Acquiring Knowledge

Your first step is to acquire the basic skills and
knowledge needed to run an online site or business.
When I started I had to learn how to write HTML from
scratch and go from there... today there are many online
site builders and WYSIWYG editors to get you started.
Plus, you now have whole online site building systems
you can use - Ken Evoy's SBI comes readily to mind.

No matter which route you follow, you must understand how
an online site works, how to use keywords, how to create
valuable content and how to tie in your affiliate links
with this content... all this basic knowledge you must
acquire.

2. Get The Big Picture: Your Role - Your Content

You must fully understand your role in the whole
online affiliate marketing process. Your content
must be valuable to the Internet user, it must
offer information, solve a problem or offer a
special deal. There must be some reason why the
surfer will use your site to find what they're
looking for on the web. They must benefit in some
way from using your site.

Again, offering valuable, helpful information will
spell online affiliate success for you.

3. Build Your Foundation

You must have your own domain or domains. You must
create your own piece of virtual real estate that
you can build and gradually add to as you proceed.
Be wary of free sites. Don't rent, own your real
estate outright. Your sites will become your valuable
properties you will continue to build for years
to come.

When picking a domain name try to get as close as you
can to the main keyword or keyword phrase represented
by your site's topic. Use hyphens if you have to but
choose a name that is short and can be easily remembered
and typed directly into a browser.

As for site design and layout - a simple solution
is to use a blog format such as the free WordPress
software and host it on your own domain. Extremely
effective way of creating a full-powered content site
without having to worry about learning HTML code or
programing. You can have a website up and running
within minutes.

4. Know Your Partners & Their Products

As an affiliate marketer you will be selling other
people's stuff. You must get to know these future
partners and their marketing systems. Pick affiliate
products directly related to the topic of your site.
Something your visitors are interested in and would
likely purchase after you have supplied them with
valuable information about those products.

A good way to find potential products and partners is
to join the well established major affiliate networks
on the web. These networks represents most of the Top 500
Companies in the world. Affiliate networks like Commission
Junction, LinkShare, Amazon, ClickBank, Shareasale...
these networks have been around for years and offer
excellent payment structures and commission rates.

5. Long Tail Keyword Marketing

Develop content and high rankings for long tail keyword
phrases related to your site's topic. These are some of
the least competitive keywords yet they will also prove
to be the most lucrative for you. Find the long tail
keywords within your niche and exploit them. Using exact
brand names of the affiliate products you're promoting
make for effective long tail keywords.

Consistently use and develop this long tail keyword
strategy and you will succeed at affiliate marketing.

6. Build Your One-Way Links

Take a pro-active approach to link building. Don't sit
around waiting for links, instead go out and get them.
Use your keyword anchor links in the resource box of your
articles. Distribute these articles to all the major
article directories... make sure Ezinearticles.com,
Goarticles.com, ArticleAlley.com... are on your list.

Recommend products that you use, make forum posts,
create viral videos, join social media sites, offer
a free newsletter and build your own subscriber base,
create follow-up autoresponder series on the major
products you promote... these are all ways of creating
traffic and customers.

7. Embrace Google But Don't Ignore the Others

Embrace Google as if your affiliate marketing life
depended on it - chances are it will be!

Google is the search engine that you must optimize for
if you want your site to really succeed online. Don't
ignore the others, but Google has become the most
popular search engine in the world and even accounts
for 50% of all the searches made in the USA. (comScore)

So short of a brown-nose, do everything you can to please
Google. The rewards are worth it. Whether you're a Google
fan or not, Google has gained the trust and respect of
the majority of Internet users. Getting a top 10 placement
for your targeted keywords will often mean money in the bank.

8. Be Aware Of The Social Media Revolution

Be aware the Internet is constantly changing and in the
next few years everything will be turned topsy-turvy. We
are talking about the growing popularity of user-generated
content sites such as MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube, Digg,
Technorati...

Stay within the flow by making sure any site you create
has a blog and RSS feed attached to it. Make sure all
your content can be easily bookmarked in all these
different social bookmarking sites. One simple solution
is to use the easy bookmarking system supplied by
Addthis.com, place their code on your content pages
and let your visitors bookmark your content for you
in all these different media sites.

9. Model It

In art one of the best ways to learn is to model
or copy the masters. You learn by seeing how
someone else has approached and solved a problem
and then use their model or example. In affiliate
marketing, one of the best ways to learn is to
copy or model your business on one that has already
been proven to work.

This is NOT literal copying of a site or business
but simply modeling your own business on an existing
example that works. Same structure, same marketing
techniques, same principles... building your affiliate
business on an existing mold or model is a wise
route to take if you want to succeed.

10. Be Patient For Results

Building a viable online affiliate business takes some
time so be patient. If you're building a content rich
site and targeting specific keywords it can take months,
sometimes even years, before you obtain significant
results. So have long term goals in place and expect
plenty of hard work before you reap the real rewards.

Just remember becoming a full time online affiliate
marketer is well within anyone's reach. However, like
most things in life, the journey is always much more
enjoyable than your final destination. Many of you will
probably discover, like I did, that 'the reach is the
grasp'. Actually doing something is the main reward,
all those monthly affiliate checks are just pleasant
aftershocks. Very nice aftershocks that add up very
quickly into a healthy monthly online income!

How To Immediately Boost Your Affiliate Marketing Sales

Here are some 'common sense' ways to boost your
affiliate sales. Why not try some of these very
practical approaches to your Internet Marketing
and give your affiliate sales a much needed lift.

How To Immediately Boost Your Affiliate Marketing Sales

Affiliate marketing is a very competitive field. Savvy
affiliate marketers use every tactic they know to get the
upper hand over their competition. It can mean the difference
of whether or not they get that all important sale.

One of the best ways to boost your affiliate sales is to
take full advantage of brand name recognition. It is a proven
affiliate marketing tactic: selling products with high popular
brand recognition is much easier than selling an unknown product
or company.

It just makes common sense in our brand eat brand world!

It seems so obvious but many beginning affiliate marketers make
the mistake of promoting little known products or companies.
Their task will be much more difficult than if they sold the
products of a well recognized brand name.

As a full time affiliate marketer I have seen this fact pointed
out daily in my sales stats. Brand names sell. Popular brand
names sell even better. Popular brand names with popular
trendy products sell the best.

If you're an affiliate marketer you must choose the products
you promote with the utmost care; in many cases this is where
you will determine the outcome of your marketing efforts. Choose
wisely and you could be in profit before you know what hit
you. Choose wrongly and it's an uphill struggle from the
very beginning.

Here are a few tips or suggestions to help with your
affiliate marketing.

* How To Pick Popular Products

You must keep your eyes open. What products are your friends
and relatives buying? What brands? What products are in all the
popular magazines? What Products are being advertised on TV
ad nauseam?

You should be able to figure out the popular brands and
products that are currently selling. Remember, if it's
popular, it's selling!

As an affiliate marketer you can promote anything, why not
choose the most popular brands and products. Just look for
popular trends and join the bandwagon. Sure, the competition
might be stiffer but the demand for these products will
also be greater.

If you join affiliate networks like Commission Junction
they will show you the companies with the highest sales
volume in their system. Study this sales data before
you pick your affiliate companies or products.

You can even use Google Trends to tell which products are
popular and in which countries. Do some market research
first and pick the most popular products to promote.

Many marketers keep an eye on their PPC (Pay Per Click)
keywords for any surges in searches or impressions.
A big jump could mean an increase in popularity for
that product or company.

* Be Aware of The Buzz Factor

Certain brand names and products have buzz. How many
times have you seen the Apple iPhone shown or spoken
about in the last month?

How about Vista? I promote laptops within one of my
online sites... I saw a surge in laptop sales once Vista
was released. I sell RAM or memory cards on my site...
I knew there would be an increase in people searching
to boost their computer's RAM to take full advantage
of Vista.

Keeping your eyes open to popular trends can result
in more sales. If there is high demand it is much
easier to sell the product.

* Can It Only Be Bought Online?

One of my most successful tactics has been to pick
products or offers that are only available online.
Dell products come quickly to mind. If products are
only available online, you will have a better chance
of selling them.

Online coupons and exclusive deals also increases your
affiliate sales. Look for these and display them along
with your popular brands for they will increase your sales.
Everybody loves a deal!

* Use Brand Names In Your Site Copy and PPC Advertising

You must always check with your affiliate company what
rules they have about displaying brand names and trademarks
on your site copy. Most companies will supply their affiliates
with web content they can use for promotion.

Most Companies have strict rules prohibiting affiliates
from using certain brand name keywords in their PPC
advertising. Each company is different, so check before
you proceed with any PPC campaigns.

However, one of the most effective ways for PPC advertising
is to use the particular brand name and product name in your
PPC ads. Savvy affiliate marketers have figured this one out
long ago, it mainly has to do with finding the buyer at the
right stage in their buying process. If they're looking a
particular product ; they may already have their minds made
up and are ready to buy.

I have experienced this first hand in my own online
marketing. Someone searching in Google for gaming laptops
might just be checking out these machines, whereas someone
searching for a particular gaming laptop by the exact product
name is more likely to buy... and I have the web stats to
prove it!

* A Rose Is A Rose Is A Sale!

In conclusion, if you're going to promote affiliate products,
it would be foolhardy not to pick popular brand names that are
trusted and liked by your potential customers. Brand name loyalty
will play a major role in whether or not you get the sale. Keep
your eyes peeled for popular trends and shifts in the marketplace
so you can adjust your marketing to meet these new demands. Just
remember, when in doubt always go with the popular brand name and
you will increase your sales.
