Everything changes, including Internet Marketing.

Is it just me or are marketers starting to give away
valuable information that you can actually use.

What's up with that?

John Reese has been calling for this kind of
thing for some time now. May be other marketers
are listening to him.

Although I take a more cynical view, the
info-product market is becoming overwhelmed
with launch after launch - I believe most
buyers are being turned off and tuned out.
It's just harder to get people interested in
your info-product anymore, no matter how
amazing it is. So marketers have to raise
the stakes and offer something really
amazing just to warm prospects up to their
next offer.

Their problem - your gain.

Lately, there seems to be a change in the works...
many so-called Gurus are switching gears and changing
their marketing tactics and offering valuable free
items. They are giving away free products in order
to create some good-will so that you will buy more
products from them down the road.

What's the big deal - you ask?

Marketers have been giving away free products,
ebooks, reports, articles for years now - haven't
they?

Yes, but now they have increased the quality of
these giveaways... they are giving away products
they are already selling or they could/should be
selling. High quality stuff that you would actually
pay money for if they weren't giving it away....

The New Free Is The Old Buy!

Most recent ones include Mike Filsaime with
"The 7 Figure Secrets", Brad Callen has a
spectacular web creator tool in the works
called 'BlinkWeb', Neil Shearing's "Real Link
Finder", Ken Evoy has just made free "Make Your
Words Sell", a book he has been selling for years
at around $30.

This just may be a change for the better.
Top marketers are now giving away more free
stuff but these are products that are actually
worth your time.

Of course, this is a marketing tactic to get you
introduced to their products with the objective
of selling other products to you. Many marketers
have high-end coaching products or courses that
they promote and sell; what better way to pre-sell
than to give you valuable information that will
help you get started.

However, that shouldn't stop you from benefiting
from all these high quality free products. Just be
aware of the marketing tactic behind them. Not that
there's anything wrong with what these marketers
are doing - most of them are "Tops" in their fields
and any offerings are worth checking out.

So if you're a IM junkie like me, keep your inbox
open, you never know when you will receive a valuable
free gift that you can actually use. I am particularly
keeping my eyes peeled for the new Brad Callen's web
design product... that looks like a real winner.
I will pass along the information with it comes
online.

Here's a little video teaser:

....

o Ken Evoy's "Free Stuff"

Of course, Ken Evoy is one of those marketers
that has been giving away valuable free products
for years. Again, it is mainly to get people interested
in his flagship product "SiteBuildIt" but that doesn't
mean these free offerings are worthless.

Just the opposite, Ken's SiteSell products are
some of the best Internet Marketing training manuals
on the web.

If you want a "no-cost" way to find out what Internet
Marketing is all about - just download some of Ken's
manuals. Be warned, they're meaty and chalked full
of information but they're the real thing. They will
get you started on the right track... they got me started.
And I still use them!

List Building has always been a special passion of
mine for over 10 years now. In those years I have
learned a little bit about list building and how
it's done.

In my latest SiteProNews blog post I discuss some
of the list tactics I use in order to make a living
online. One or two of those tactics have proven
very lucrative for me... if you want to find out

o Joel Comm's Instant Resale Templates

For those online marketers looking for a
product to sell - creating your OWN product
is the BEST way to go. However, the next best
thing is gaining or having resale rights
to a popular product.

Basically you obtain permission to resale this
product on your own site and in your online
marketing. Pick the right product and it may
prove very lucrative if you know what you're
doing and you work really hard at it.

Only downside, you will have some competition
since other marketers will be snapping up
the good quality products and also re-selling
them. But on here, competition is the name of
the game, since even in affiliate marketing
there will be stiff competition for the products
you choose to promote.

Joel Comm is offering "resale rights" to his
popular Adsense Template Series... if you're
looking a product to promote and sale on the
web, you should have a look at this Adsense
Template niche.

Joel is offering this product on a sliding
price scale... first two days May 1st & 2nd
the price is very low. After that it goes
up each few days until it is taken off the
market.

This is a solid product and worth a look
if you're in the market for promoting a
product on your site.

o Marketing Lessons From The Sunshine State

Since marketing is not my original profession,
I take every opportunity to learn as much as
I can about it every chance I get. No matter
where I find these marketing lessons.

Fortunately, marketing is all around us, on TV,
on the web, in the streets... for the average
consumer marketing is constantly amongst us,
slowly working its influence.

Recently, while vacationing in Florida, I was
really made aware how that state is marketed.
And it is an extremely attractive package,
year-round sunshine, excellent services, friendly
people, world-class amusement parks and attractions...
throw in very cheap comfortable accommodations with
a family atmosphere and your have a recipe for a
very lucrative product.

A product that can be easily sold in a worldwide
marketplace. Vacations in the Sunshine State...

No matter what you're marketing, you have to know
your product and you have to know your marketplace
or consumers. Same goes for whether you're marketing
the State of Florida or marketing a $20 product online.

If you have a product everyone wants, your marketing
will be much easier - sometimes it is just a matter
of getting your product in front of consumers. But
first you must know who those consumers will be or
consist of... do some research to find out exactly
who your potential customers will be.

Obviously, the Condo Time-Share Market is very big
in Florida. You have a constant flow of interested
visitors/tourists who have at least considered
this option while on visits to the state. It was
surprising to see how many corner stores, tourist
info spots... were offering discount tickets to
the major attractions if you attend Timeshare
sessions where someone would give you a sales
pitch on buying into the Florida Timeshare Market.

Many visitors don't like this rather hard-sell or
recruitment but for those who are actually interested
in buying a Timeshare... it is a good deal, they
get a discount, plus they get information on buying
into a Timeshare which they want or are willing
to give some serious thought to in the first place.

Operating an online site can work pretty much the
same way... you offer interested visitors/buyers
something free to hear your sales pitch or offer.
The trick is to find only those people who are
actually in the buying frame of mind... finding
a targeted prospect... one perfect way to do this
is thru keyword marketing.

You can use the major search engines (read Google)
to target perspective buyers with the right keywords.
Some searching for "cheap laptops" are obviously looking
for inexpensive laptops.

This will bring in only the people who want to hear
your sales pitch or message. Your conversion rates
will be much higher if you get only those who are
interested in your product from the get-go.

Giving away something of real value - free gift,
great discount or extra bonuses - will bring more
perspective prospects thru the door. I have found
if you have a constant flow of targeted interested
customers you will sell more products.

In my case, it's mostly affiliate products but the
same marketing principle applies... offer a great
freebie, discount or bonus to get targeted potential
customers to buy from your link instead of someone
else's link.

Likewise, give a good deal or bargain and people
will listen to your sales pitch or offer. Especially
if it is something they want or are interested in
buying in the first place... just conect the dots.

Works in the Sunshine State, works online too!

o Professional Graphics - Why You Need Them

Coming from an art education background I know
a few things about graphics, layout and design.
I can usually manage to produce passable
graphics for my different sites. But they
are just that - barely passable.

Quite frankly, until lately, I didn't have the
money to spend 100s of dollars on professional
graphics for my sites. Now, I can afford to
re-invest some of my earnings into professionally
produced web graphics.

That's exactly what I did!

I just wished I had invested funds into these
kinds of graphics when I first started online -
a professional graphic will give you a much better
conversion rate. A well-done graphic is worth its
weight in gold. You get a much better response.

I am talking from first-hand experience here...
for my latest site www.internetfaxguide.org
I invested in some professional graphics and the
sign-up rate is much better than for my other
sites. Plus, when I added this fax graphic to
my other existing sites, my sign-up rates jumped
25 to 50% - just by adding this graphic.

So if you have a newsletter, ezine, guide...
make sure you place a good graphic or picture
right beside your sign-up form... this will
increase your conversions.

Professional Graphics - Why do you need them?

- To give and project a professional image
- To give your visitors a tangible image of your ezine
- To improve the quality of your site - everyone IS a critic
- To help increase your sales or sign-up rate

I was so pleased, that now when ever this particular
graphic designer accepts new projects - I am
first in line. I will gradually get new graphics
done for all my major newsletters and sites.

The graphic designer I am speaking of is
Ryan Jackson and he has done some excellent
graphics for some of the top marketers on the web.
His graphics are geared to Internet Marketing
and he knows his trade.

Plus, he gets my recommendation simply from
the graphics he has done for me!

His site is located here:

www.designgururyan.com

Hope this information was of some help to
your online marketing. I am living my
dream of working full-time online, hope
you get to live yours too!

o Rant - What I Don't Like About Internet Marketing

The last rant I did, I had a flood of un-subscribes
from my lists. I expect the same this time but
here goes...

Mainly, what I dislike most about Internet marketing
is all the marketing hype and the rhetoric surrounding
IM. Especially around all these Big Product launches
lately... and all these Big name Gurus offering you
the moon to buy from their links.

It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

And it is not the Gurus I dislike, it's the way
they do business. It's the whole process or launch
roll-up that I dislike... it has turned into a three-
ring circus with hundreds of sleazy side-shows.

I believe a lot of people are sucked into this
whole marketing whirlpool without a clue how
they are being manipulated by very skillful
marketers. Especially those who are just trying
to get into online marketing or starting up
a web business.

A lot of people are wasting money on products
they won't use or need. Granted it's their money
and they can spend it however they choose but
that still doesn't make it right.

All marketers are guilty of pushing and promoting
products - myself included. It's what we do.

We just go overboard sometimes!

They are many great "Marketers/Gurus" who know
their stuff and put what they know into excellent
"Info-Products". The best marketers will go out of
their way to help you - even if you're just beginning
this online game.

However, the whole product roll-out system is
becoming a little too manipulating or at least
this is my opinion. How many innocent buyers
get caught up in this whole marketing frenzy
and end up with a product they can't or won't
use...

I expect the numbers are quite large... with
that in mind here is my latest article which
is also, more or less, another rant!

o How To Guru-Proof Yourself Against Big Product Launches

Even for those of us who have been dabbling in the
Internet marketing arena for a decade or more, all
these latest frenzied "Info-Product Launches" are
downright scary. In recent months it is not only
the product launches themselves that have become
a little frightening, but also the rate at which
these product launches keep bombarding all of us
in the marketing world. It has become so relentless
you feel like you're an extra, ducking for cover in
some war movie; Saving Private Ryan comes quickly
to mind.

Once upon a time, not too long ago, you might get hit
with one or two really major launches in a year. Now
it seems like we are getting two or three a week. Those
actively looking for good, solid marketing information
will be totally drenched in the latest "How To" ebooks,
videos and courses. Plus, throw in all those debuting
membership sites, seminars, and private coaching sessions
and even seasoned marketers are in serious danger of
getting "Info Product Launch Burn-out."

For the beginning wannabe online marketer it is a virtual
mind field. One misstep and you can wake up, scratching
your head: did I actually pay that much for a marketing
product I can barely understand, let alone put into
practice. Don't get fooled by all the promises of instant
wealth or quick riches. If getting rich was as easy as
123... we would all be sporting Donald Trump hairdos.

To make matters worst, all the latest marketing trends
seem to be promoting the laziest ways possible to make
a quick killing on the Internet. With this simple
marketing tactic or that SEO trick, even the dimmest
light bulb on the planet can have roaring online success
without even breaking into a sweat or using up any of
those precious brain cells. Heaven forbid.

The marketing hype has become so palpable and obnoxious
it's like a rich relative who won't shut up about how
much he's earning while sitting in his pj's and playing
with his PDA.

"How I made 1 million in 52 minutes." "How I made 100
grand with only a list of 45 subscribers..."

Who is to blame for all this "Info Product Feeding Frenzy"?
Well we won't mention names but these marketers are not
shy about what they're doing. Just the opposite, they brag
and boast about how they can manipulate, control and whip
prospective customers into such a buying frenzy just to
see who can sell the largest amount of product in the
shortest amount of time.

Some savvy and ruthless online marketers have turned this
whole launch process into an art form, offering flashy
videos with real valuable content in order to hook potential
customers and capture their email contact information. The
info-product launch flows out like a well-rehearsed opera:

  • Giving the specific date and countdown clock
showing when the product goes live.
  • Incorporating a blog to keep everyone, including the
    search engines, informed.
  • Strictly limiting the product or buying time to increase
    demand.
  • Even manipulating you to buy the product before someone
    else beats you to it.
  • Having top-name JV partners whipping their devoted
    followers/subscribers with extra bonus offers.
  • Even enticing said affiliate partners with top prizes
    from ipods to sports cars.
  • Everything is in marketing sync for the big day.

Some of the top marketing pros and experts are now even
offering courses on how to do exactly that: courses showing
HOW you can warm up and psychologically cultivate a whole
list of prospective buyers by giving away very valuable
information in videos, reports and online calls... all
to make that final sale.

There is nothing wrong with making a sale. There is
nothing wrong with making a hundred sales, but there
is something intrinsically wrong when you know in your
heart of heart what you're selling will never be used
by half the people who are buying it.

How many of those sales are from naive or desperate buyers
looking for a 'quick fix' or 'easy ride' to the good life?
How many even if they have the money to buy your product
will never have the will power and fortitude to carry out
the marketing game plan in your product?

How many people are being fooled by all this marketing
hype and rhetoric... how many will actually benefit from
buying your product? Makes one wonder if that old saying
is really true that in any gold rush, it is the people
selling to the miners who make the most money.

All of these marketing products should not only come
with an income disclaimer, which all the marketers
prudently include, if only by some magical power we
could see displayed on each product in big bold letters
the tell-tell statistic: "How many buyers will actually
read/view/use and ultimately benefit from the marketing
info-product they have just purchased?"

That would be one statistic worth discovering. Of course,
there's no way of knowing, but one could argue this number
is quite large. Otherwise, if you believe all the claims
on these products, half the world would be Internet
marketers and rolling in dough.

Online marketing is not easy. It can't be done overnight.
There is a learning curve and you must pay your dues.
Be extra weary of any short cuts and anyone offering
them. Magic formulas do exist and while buying the latest
marketing product and information can definitely make
the journey easier; always remember, no product can make
that journey for you. No product or system can automatically
make you rich. Don't be fooled by flashy headlines, smart
videos and the latest next big thing.

Nor can anyone say these info-products don't have real
value or merit. They do! They are of tremendous value
to those who can benefit from them. If you're marketing
on the web and your sites/marketing are earning you $200-$300
a day or an hour - even just a small tidbit of information
or advice can dramatically increase your income. Over time
the amount paid for any info-product will be returned to
you a hundred-fold. Sometimes it has nothing to do with
the info-product itself; a marketer might mention a piece
of software or program he/she uses in their work that when
applied to your own can make a big difference in how much
you earn. Been there, done that.

For everything is relative; even the large amounts charged
for some of these seminars, coaching sessions or info-products
can be justified if the buyer gets his money's worth and
then some. It all depends on the position/angle you're
coming from and how much the information impacts your
online business, which will really determine if one
benefits from a particular info-product or not.

So the next time you're bombarded by the latest info-product
by some of the world's best online marketers... STOP, take
a deep breath and step back from all the marketing hype and
manipulation. Then honestly ask yourself: How can I use
this information? Will I use this information? Perhaps,
most importantly, can I really afford this product at
this time or can it wait?

If you decide to buy, protect yourself by thoroughly
checking out the marketer's reputation beforehand.
A money-back guarantee is only as good as the marketer's
word. If there is a payment option - take this route
because you will lose less money if refunds are not
honored.

Above all, if you're buying the product because you
believe it will solve all your problems and will
virtually give you the path to the easy life, just
remember this... you have to do some work. You have
to put in some sweat equity. You have to do your own
homework; no one else can do it for you. It doesn't
work that way. Sure some smart, successful marketer
can sell you the answers, but you still have to
write the test yourself.

Like most things in life, there are shortcuts; but
you have to take them yourself in order to get to
where you want to go. Online marketing is no different.
